Richardson Eyes Second Paris Medal as U.S. Women Chase Relay Gold and Basketball Final Spot

Friday's Olympic schedule features Sha'Carri Richardson in the 4x100 relay, a U.S. women's basketball semifinal against Australia, and a marquee 400-meter hurdles showdown, with most major events airing on NBC and Peacock.

Sha'Carri Richardson will go after her second medal of the Paris Olympics on Friday, when the U.S. women's 4x100-meter relay team races for gold. The final is set for 1:30 p.m. Philadelphia time and will air live on NBC.

Richardson, who earned silver in the 100-meter dash, rescued the American squad on Thursday during a messy qualifying heat. Gabby Thomas, Twanisha Terry and Melissa Jefferson will run alongside her in the final.

Another headline event is the men's 400-meter hurdles final, scheduled for 3:45 p.m. on NBC. It pits American Rai Benjamin, the Tokyo silver medalist, against Norway's Karsten Warholm, the reigning Olympic champion.

Several other track and field golds will be decided in the afternoon: the women's shot put at 1:37 p.m., the men's 4x100 relay at 1:47 p.m., the women's 400 meters at 2 p.m., the men's triple jump at 2:13 p.m., the women's heptathlon 800 meters at 2:25 p.m., and the women's 10,000 meters at 2:57 p.m.

In basketball, the U.S. women, including North Philadelphia's Kahleah Cooper, face Australia in the semifinals at 11:30 a.m. on NBC. A victory would put the Americans in position for an eighth consecutive gold medal in Sunday's final, against either France or Belgium. That other semifinal airs on USA Network at 4 p.m.

Elsewhere, the U.S. men's water polo team meets Serbia in the knockout stage at 8:35 a.m. on USA Network, and the U.S. men's volleyball team plays Italy for bronze at 10 a.m. The men's soccer gold medal match between France and Spain kicks off at noon on USA Network; the U.S. men were knocked out by Morocco in the quarterfinals.

Beyond NBC's main channel, two cable channels created for the Games, Paris Extra 1 and Paris Extra 2, carry live action, though NBC is not publishing their schedules in advance. Major cable and satellite providers carry them, as do YouTube TV, Sling, FuboTV and Hulu Live. NBC's traditional primetime show this year features highlights and storytelling rather than live competition, while live coverage runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and longer on weekends.

Every event can be streamed live on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app with a pay-TV login. Viewers without a pay-TV subscription can watch through the premium tier of Peacock, which costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. The apps work on mobile devices, tablets and connected TV platforms such as Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.

Comcast Xfinity X1 customers can say "Olympics" into the voice remote to pull up coverage on TV or online. On Friday's NBC lineup, diving's women's springboard final opens at 9 a.m., followed by women's beach volleyball between Brazil and Canada at 4:30 p.m. and rhythmic gymnastics' individual all-around at 5:30 p.m.
